Life
Born in 1970, George Caster is an internationally recognized historian of Late-Classical Meridia. He holds the Chair of Meridian Studies, and is known for his compelling public lectures, authored works, and documentary appearances. A father of four and husband of 30 years, George bridges the scholarly and the popular with his enduring fascination for the complexities of legacy, power, and cultural memory.
George had always been interested in History. However it was not until he was 30 years old that he seriously considered to delve into History professionally. A practical man he instead chose to partake in his family’s construction business. Through a fortunate series of events, the now married George with two young children had a more than stable source of income and could devote his free time to his intellectual pursuits.
Rapidly these free time pursuits would subsume his every day. Delving ever deeper into his studies and conducting original work to satisfy academical short-commings in certain fields. By 2010 he had released his 3rd book on the subject of Late-Classical Meridian Culture. In that year he would be recognized with the granting of an honorary Doctorate at the University of Meridia, and after collaborating with members of the University he was eventually granted the Chair of Cultural Studies in late-classical Meridia.
Since then he has continued publishing works. He has shifted his focus somewhat from an academical focus to a more popular telling of history. Now he regularly features in documentaries, podcasts, and Talkshows sharing his fascinations with the wider public.
